Los Angeles is the most expensive city to live in the United States, but that isn't stopping millionaires and billionaires of the tech industry from pooling their financial resources there... mostly in the form of multi-million-dollar mansions that many of us can only dream of living in.

According to a study, California is home to almost 25 percent of the country's billionaires -- no wonder, they call it the Golden State. Of this 25 percent, many are lucky to be living in Los Angeles, the hub of the state itself.

If you're wondering who these mystery billionaires are, don't worry because we're pretty sure you know some of them.

Elon Musk

The first name on the list is one that most of us are familiar with, especially those who like to stay up to date with the goings-on in the tech industry. Elon Musk is no stranger to the world of entrepreneurship.

The PayPal co-founder has made a name for himself among the world's most successful businessmen, currently helming Tesla, SolarCity and SpaceX among his ever-growing list of businesses.

Musk has lived in Los Angeles long enough to understand the city's growing traffic problem, which is why he pitched the hyperloop idea to help residents travel between San Fransisco and Los Angeles without waiting for hours in rush hour traffic

David Geffen

Music industry legend David Geffen also resides in the city of dreams. Currently worth $8.6 billion, Geffen built a massive empire called DreamWorks which has discovered and endorsed some of the biggest names in the music industry like Guns N' Roses, The Eagles and Nirvana. Despite being a college dropout, Geffen is one of the most successful names in the music industry.

Patrick Soon-Shiong

Who said that Los Angeles is only for Hollywood's rich and famous? Even surgeons and doctors are making millions and even billions in this city.

Patrick Soon-Shiong, the founder of APP Pharmaceuticals, made his $2.9 billion by selling off several of his pharmaceutical companies including BioScience and Abraxis.

APP alone was sold for $4.6 billion more than a decade ago which shows just about how much dough the surgeon has raked in.

Eli Broad

But the richest man in Los Angeles is neither a surgeon nor an entertainer. In fact, it is Eli Broad, with a net worth of $6.7 billion, who is known for his philanthropic efforts. The billionaire has founded two of the biggest companies in the country, KB Homes and Sun Life.
