An unexpected incident happened when Prince William and Kate Middleton visited their charity center called Church on the Street. This charity center aims to uplift the underprivileged class of society and feed the poor. It also has a broad objective of eliminating hunger and poverty. They met an 11 years old boy, Deacon Glover, who was mourning his mom's death. Prince William had great empathy for him and shared a wholesome moment with the young boy.
To their surprise, Deacon Glover was wearing a green shirt of the England National Team and Burnley’s goalkeeper Nick Pope. It turned out that the young mourning boy was a die-hard fan of soccer star Nick Pope.
During the meetup with Glover, Prince William whispered in his ears: “Would you like to meet Nick?” The boy grinned and nodded his head - gesturing, “Yes, of course!”. Prince William then promised him that he would make his dream come true by saying, “Let’s see what we can do for you.”
The Duke of Cambridge Keeps His Words!
Last Sunday, The Duke of Cambridge kept his words by making Glover’s dream of meeting with the goalkeeper Nick Pope come true. He met with the England National Team’s goalie Nick Pope prior to Burnley's soccer match with Liverpool.
The Burnley Express reported Glover’s meetup with Nick as “wholesome and an absolute pleasure to watch.” The report further suggests that Nick was absolutely humble towards Glover, and Glover’s excitement was matchless. “I got real goosebumps, and the tears of joy filled my eyes as I saw my nephew jumping up with ecstasy,” said Carole Ellis, the grandmother of Glover.
Furthermore, the renowned athlete presented his Burnley jersey and goalkeeping gloves. Nick signed the presents with unwavering words, "NEVER GIVE UP!”
After a “decent chat” with Glover, Nick Pope brought Glover onto the field and captured some wholesome pictures with him. Reportedly, Glover was surprised by seeing the large and wide soccer goals. He was, likewise, surprised by the loving cheers of the crowd who were keen to watch the contest between Liverpool and Burnley.
As the game started, Glover and his family enjoyed the soccer match as “special spectators” where they were given a distinguished seat in the director’s cabin.
The Glover Family is Grateful to Prince William
The grandmother of Glover, Ellis Glover, remarked that it was one of the beautiful days of her life. “Everyone was so loving and caring towards us. From Nick to everyone present in the stadium, everyone cheered us up. It is one of the days that will be glued with us and our family.”
She concluded by thanking Prince William, who made this day special, for Glover. “I am deeply indebted to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who brought a new glamour in my nephew’s life. He will live a life of pride,” she concluded.
