Update: February 18 – 25

Seattle is a great place. It’s absurd to me that ‘Happy Hour’ is illegal in BC, although there does seem to be weekly news on liquor reform in this province. Let’s hope! I enjoyed $3 happy hour specials of many west coast craft breweries including Deschutes Black Butte Porter and Elysian “Immortal” IPA. Good stuff. There was also habanero infused tabiko spicy tuna rolls. CF noted that this was THE BEST spicy tuna roll she’s ever had. High praise from a foodie! For those of you who don’t know what tabiko is, it’s the fish eggs that come with many sushi rolls. Usually they are orange. These were red. Ahh habanero…

While we were hacking our way to a cheap and affordable stay at The Fairmont, the rest of the world was busy typing away. Some good stuff this week!

  • From CF: Forgiving and forgetting is one of the things that I struggle with.  Indeed, when someone wrongs me, I find it easier to simply cut all ties and move on.  Otherwise, my anger and resentment continue to fester.  Perhaps it is cruel, but I’d rather surround myself with positive influences rather than continually trying to forgive those who have no consideration for me.  In this post, James discusses ways of letting go of your anger.

  • “There are two kinds of freedom. Freedom from (negative freedom) and freedom to (positive freedom)”. This is the beginning of a recent article at Art of Manliness. I really found this applicable to where I am in life and worthy of a good read (or two). Hope you enjoy it as well.
