Fans of Jessica Simpson may have missed her for her noticeable absence from the limelight but she came back with a bang – literally, she dropped bombshells that rocked the entertainment industry, much to the satisfaction of the public. Of course, we are talking about her memoir titled Open Book, which pretty much gave justice to the revelations inside.
Have you ever opened a book that has a cool and intriguing title but ended up disappointed after reading? We’ve all been there, so when the singer announced her memoir, nobody knew that there would be juicy narrations beyond the front page.
While the book was only released on Feb. 2, it became a New York Times’ best-seller, a feat that shows just how much people got hooked by her no-holds-barred stories. Meanwhile, Jessica took to Instagram to thank her fans who made this possible.
She has been on tour to promote her memoir and obviously, her hard work paid off. Jessica’s younger sister, Ashlee, congratulated her on social media, expressing how proud she is of her sibling.
The Pieces of Me hitmaker went on to call Jessica a brave, loving, kind, and beautiful sister and gushed over how the 39-year-old is so inspiring. The author gave back the praise to Ashlee, whose bravery had taught her to bandage up my wings and FLY.
About the Book
Everyone’s minds were blown when Open Book came out as it divulged sensitive and personal details from a multitude of key events in Jessica’s life, including body issues, failed marriages, past relationships, career, and even harassment.
Die-hard fans of Jessica may differentiate her from equally beautiful singers Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears in a heartbeat but those who aren’t familiar can’t always tell who’s who. One of the These Boots Are Made for Walking artist’s revelations is that she used to be compared to these two pop stars and at times, she was even mistaken for either one.
Then, there was the romantic fling with John Mayer, who infamously objectified Jessica in an interview. The two, who started dating in 2005, had an on-again, off-again relationship that was, plain as day, too toxic for her.
Jessica also opened up about going under the knife as a result of her body image problems. After giving birth to two children, she admitted she had a tummy tuck, even though doctors warned her that she was a high-risk patient.
